In a tiny village in the mountains of Gorski Kotar, we came upon a woman who works day and night to create THE most beautiful lace pieces we've ever seen! This lace-making is a passion of hers, it is her form of self-expression, and it is an art form from Croatia that without a doubt should be protected and preserved.
Crochet and lace making is an old folk art also known as "drawing" with a thread! Durda Pintar Janes learned this art as a small girl from her family and is mainly self-taught due to her enthusiasm and love of crochet.
This STUNNING lace piece is a soft baby blue in the interior, and has been created using an absolutely gorgeous design which has precise edges, and which is so intricate that it took countless hours to create; it measures a generous 11 inches in length and is 7.75 inches wide; it uses the TROBOJNICA (Croatian colors of red, white and blue) along the borders.
WHAT BETTER WAY TO STATE YOUR HERITAGE?!
