Licitar are brightly decorated with sugar frosting (colors will vary since all are handmade), with a small mirror placed in the center. Typically, a message was usually attached which read, "Look into this mirror and you will see the person I love."

Today, Licitarska Srca are used as Christmas tree ornaments and they are exchanged year-round. Also a PERFECT gift to give at Croatian-American weddings.
