This lovely water-colour serigraphy is by acclaimed Croatian artist, Josip Generalić. Josip Generalić, who died in 2004, is the son of the Master of Naïve Art in Croatia, Ivan Generalić.

Serigraphy, also known as silk screening, screen printing or serigraph printing, is a stencil-based printing process in which ink is forced through a fine screen onto the paper beneath. Screens were originally made of silk, but they are now made of finely woven polyester or nylon. This is the highest quality type of print obtainable in the modern art world.

A serigraph is created when paint is 'pushed' through a silkscreen onto paper or canvas. A different screen is used for each color in the print, and this results in a print with great color density and many qualities of the original piece in terms of color saturation.
