Product Description

This lovely water-colour serigraphy is by Croatian artist, Goran Generalić. Goran Generalić is the grandson of the Master of Naïve Art in Croatia, Ivan Generalić, and the son of artist Josip Generalić.

Serigraphy, also known as silk screening, screen printing or serigraph printing, is a stencil-based printing process in which ink is forced through a fine screen onto the paper beneath. Screens were originally made of silk, but they are now made of finely woven polyester or nylon. This is the highest quality type of print obtainable in the modern art world.

serigraph is created when paint is 'pushed' through a silkscreen onto paper or canvas. A different screen is used for each color in the print, and this results in a print with great color density and many qualities of the original piece in terms of color saturation.

"Cvijet na regali" ("Flower on a Shelf: Poinsettia") is a colorful and playful piece of art for those who enjoy nature as interpreted in this Croatian Naïve Art.

The high quality and sturdy paper this is printed on measures 7.75in. x 11.75n.

SIGNED BY THE ARTIST, and the TITLE is also handwritten here BY THE ARTIST,  1994
