This amazing piece, which is approximately 1.75in. in length, is an antique that dates back to the days when filigree work was entirely handmade. A piece such as this would take literally days, perhaps even months, to create...which is why traditional filigree work is today so hard to find. (Much of what today is called "filigree" is constructed with the use of certain molds.) There is a beautiful piece of Adriatic coral that centers this beautiful piece. FILIGREE is a delicate kind of jewelry that is made using the art of curling, twisting and plaiting threads of silver to create curving motifs. It often is suggestive of LACE. Filigree jewelry, entirely handmade, at one time could be found in many places along the Adriatic Coast. E-mail a friend about this item. | |||||||||||||||
